I have owned this amazing device for about 10 years and have opened hundreds of bottles of wine. Not only is it a great conversation piece, but this wine opener is, without question, absolutely the best for the job. The variety of cork removers that exist on this planet is truly amazing. Only two make sense to me: 1. The Butler's Friend (two steel prongs -insert, twist, & pull), and 2., this one which requires fewer steps...you don't have to remove the protective cork covering first. And, re-corking is just as easy...although I don't recall ever actually using that feature. By all means, buy one! You'll love it!

ESTATE WINE OPENER WORKS AS ADVERTISED. OPENER NEEDS A PERMANENT STAND IN ORDER TO OPERATE WITH MINIMUM EFFORT AND LEAST MUSCLE. EASIEST TO PURCHASE OPENER WITH STAND BUT ACCESS TO WELDING SHOP CAN CREATE STAND WITH LITTLE EFFORT.

My wife's Mother gave me one for Christmas after a few years of playing with her's I have my very own!! So we used it around Christmas, But New Years we had some friends over, we opened every bottle of wine in the house. Everybody was uncorking recorking they were amazed of how it works and were all asking were we got it. I Love It!!!

This is the fourth Estate wine opener I have owned. While it works nicely its durability is questionable. After a couple of years of infrequent use, two of these units stopped functioning. They would remove the cork but would not reverse to eject the cork from the screw. After inspecting the internals of the unit I found that in both cases the "dog" that reverses the screw was broken. The metal of this particular part is of poor quality and can easily brake. Researching these openers on the Internet finds that you can buy this replacement part, a hint that others have had similar experiences. This could be an excellent product if not for this one serious (in my opinion)flaw. Should the Rogar Estate Wine Openers I currently have also fail I will not replace them with this brand.
