This poster is of a world map from the 17th century. It shows the two halves of the world, with Africa, Europe and Asia on the right, and North and South America on the left. At the top is a quote in Latin, and in the four corners are pictures of famous explorers. This poster measures approx. 24" X 36" A map is a simplified depiction of a space which highlights relations between components (objects, regions) of that space. Most usually a map is a two-dimensional, geometrically accurate representation of a three-dimensional space, e.g., a geographical map.
