I received my four Sanus System speaker stands and was pleasantly surprised by their quality, and by how easy they were to assemble. They fit and hold my Klipsch Quintet speakers perfectly -- with the brackets specially designed for this model of speakers. The stands also come with several plates that fit a variety of speaker types.
The stands are easy to adjust up and down, and are not top heavy with my speakers. While the black coating is very nice, it is loosely bonded to the metal. I dropped a screw on the floor plate and it nicked the paint to bare metal.
By the way, I found the instructions easy to understand and follow, so perhaps they have been updated.
Here's a tip during assembly, especially if you are using 14-ga lamp cord: insert the cord into the tubes before you screw the tube to the floor plate.
Final comment: great stands at a great price. Highly recommended.

Do NOT go to the BB & CCs of the world to purchase your stands. They are so over-priced as many other reviewers have already attested.
The stands are very sturdy and were a breeze to install. Threading the speaker wire is the only thing that took a while. I have hardwood floors so I used the rubber bottoms. However, they were not a snug fit to the holes as everytime I picked them up to re-position them they fell out. A little super glue solved that little issue. The bonus is that there are so many types of brackets so don't throw the extras away because you may need them down the road if you plan to change your theater system which I intend to do. I have small satelite speakers but plan to go to a medium size and believe that the base is sturdy enough to handle the added weight and am not worried of having any top-heavy issues.
I got the free shipping which supposedly takes a little longer to arrive but I ordered it on a Wednesday and it arrived the following Monday.
I have had a home theater system for a good 5 years and I could never justify paying the inflated retail costs for the stands. I simply placed the satelite speakers on both ends of my couch and it was sooo G.H.E.T.T.O. I am a new user of Amazon(not to online purchasing)and am very pleased so far and a believer! I just bought the Samsung LN-S4095D 40" 1080p LCD HDTV on this site(saving 30%)so I felt compelled to update my theater system too with the speaker stands. I am looking forward to enjoying my new wall mounted TV in style with my new (and inexpensive) speaker stands.

Unlike several other products I've used in the past, these were exemplary as far as satellite speaker stands go, specifically because they come with multiple connection modules in the box, for different speaker types, some defined by specific manufacturer. I was able to jury-rig one of the connection types to work with my SuperZero NHT satellites, which have a screw hole oddly located ABOVE the wire connectors, which has rendered most other stands I've tried to use...useless.
Highly recommend these stands!

These stands are sturdy and easy to assemble. They come with several different platforms for speaker mounts so it should work for just about any satellite speaker, including some proprietary ones. Excellent value!

I just received my stands today. They are a great set for the price. I researched several companies and Amazon could not be beat with the free shipping and no sales tax. They assemble easily and look great in my living room.
